    Puppies have all gone home!
What a busy week this has been! The puppies finished their last week of training camp. We took a few field trips; Monday the puppies went to 4H class where they met the biggest dog, they had ever seen! This doggy did not even know how to woof, it went Neeigghhh and then it did this breathy woofy sound! Darwin attempted to tell this new doggy the proper way to woof! Soon they decided that this new doggy was not as interesting as all the new smells that were all around and then of course all the normal doggies they could meet! They even sampled these huge big bunny pebbles, though Auntie Shari said to “Leave It” and called it Horse Bombs!

Wednesday the puppies first thing swung by the vets as Darwin needed his Health Certificate to fly. They met a Corgi who wanted to play with them and they wanted to play too, leashes can be such a bother at times! They were weighed: Darwin at 25 lbs, Dugan at a whopping 30.2 lbs, and Anastasia at a dainty 21 pounds. They got treats from the vet though Darwin said it was not fair that only he had to have shots.

After that, we went upstairs to visit the People Dentist who love the Doodles! Then onto the park where each one did some training and then all three came out and met all the kids who wanted to pet the Puppies! From there we stopped at a park in Downtown Gig Harbor at a very busy 3-Way stop. They had picnic tables right on the sidewalk so we sat down to watch all the traffic go by. While we sat there the Parks Department showed up to mow the grass. The puppies were not so sure about this big green monster that roared, so they observed it from under the picnic table. Darwin woofed at it a few times, as it roared up the grass towards him but then it quickly turned tail and ran, Darwin puffed with pride that he scared off the Green Monster so Dugan added a few woofs of his own! Though it tried again a few more times to approach but always turned around and ran away so the puppies decided that it was not such a big deal after all. The long thin monster that whirled around and sliced up all the grass was interesting but the long tube thing that roared and made all the grass and leaves run away from it was a bit too scary.

We watched people walk by and baby strollers, big noisy trucks, and one car with Poodle heads out the windows! One lady walked by with a Corgi, was this their new friend from the vets? Nope not this one, this one was not friendly and snarled too much! Soon the puppies were starting to nap under the picnic table so it was time to call it a trip and head for home!

Thursday Dugan was picked up. His family includes two wonderful new kids to play with! They were all thrilled to pick him up and see all his training. Welcome Home Dugan!

Saturday Mr. Darwin was picked up! I had to laugh, as I do not usually see so many people on my driveway as they arrived at about the same time as two other families were picking up their sons and leaving. My son Jake is turning 16 today and he had a sleep over party from Friday to Saturday. Darwin flies out today to head to Virginia with his new family, a wonderful lady who waited a very long time for him, which her wait included her service time in Iraq. Welcome Home Darwin!

So that leaves just Anastasia who looked a bit worried when she discovered she was all alone in the puppy room! But then we brought out our new boy Sox who she just loves to play with! Sox had been joining the puppies on their romps around the yard and on the trail. We will cross fingers both pass their health testing!

So this ends the Roanna, Ting, and Khalanee journal. We will be starting up, hopefully, a new journal with Emma and Khalanee puppies. Emma goes into the vet for her Ultra Sound on Friday! They should have half chocolates and half apricots. Emma is Roanna’s sister so I am expecting these puppies to be like our last litter.

Roanna and Chaz are Honeymooning right now and hopefully we will have their puppies beginning of July. Breeding dogs is never dull and is quite the learning curve. Last night I had the whole family laughing at my Chaz and Roanna tale. I introduced the pair in the Honeymoon Suite (aka Downstairs bathroom) and Chaz had not a clue! I scratched my head as he sniffed all around, took a drink of water from the water bowls, grabbed the bear he had brought with him and came over to me for loves and scratches. What do you do when your new stud boy hasn’t a clue? So, I just sat there with them, Roanna did some flirty hopping all around and Chaz chased her a bit, but still no studly type of actions. Roanna decided she would just have to show him what to do! I was laughing so hard I had tears in my eyes! Chaz sort of got the idea but he tried on the wrong end, I warned him, the dangerous end since that end had teeth! After a few minutes, I called my husband in and asked him to help out. I would hold Roanna and he would show Chaz what to do! That did not really help though he was making improvements; he was now trying on the side! My husband laughed and reassured Chaz that he would not tell Walker or Khalanee as he left the Honeymoon Suite. As my husband left, the light bulb suddenly went off in Chaz’s head and he got it! Whew, there is hope for puppies after all!

Hopefully we will be continuing with Roanna and Chaz puppies too! We are still waiting for Ms. Melina to go into heat and she will be Honeymooning with Walker!

    Happy 20 Weeks!
Can you believe the puppies are 5 months old already? The time truly does fly by! It has been a busy time here! Let me try and catch up!

Last week we got a new addition to our program, a hopeful new stud boy, named Sox! He came from Canadoodles and flew all the way in from Canada! He wasn’t so sure what to make of his new home and all his new family members but he has been adjusting well! He is a gorgeous golden red color and just as sweet as can be, we are very excited to have him!

Saturday our Weston guy went home! He is going to living in Tacoma so close enough that we will get to see him again and for sure at our puppy reunion! Welcome Home Mr. Weston!

Dugan and Darwin are still here for training until beginning of May and then our little one Anastasia!

The puppies have been out for a few more field trips. We tried to have a practice session at the school but the wind was blowing leaves all over the parking lot so we tossed in any hope of walking nicely on the leash and chased leaves all over! Puppies will be puppies and we all had fun laughing at the puppy and leaf antics!

I’ve included a variety of pictures taken over the last week or so!

I’ll start with the stars of our pictures the puppies!

    Puppy Chaos!
I think I have dubbed this last week Puppy Chaos! They are at a very busy age and the love to explore, play, and go places! We are down to four puppies as our Mr. Jasper went on the biggest field trip a week ago this last Sunday! Has he been gone a week?

We started the day out with a big trip to the Pet Store, definitely puppy chaos there! We had two puppy families meet us there so they could work with their puppy in socializing and training and my daughter and I took the remaining two. Having all 4 puppies in the store was quite the riot! The puppies loved seeing all the kids, people, and dogs! We had a visitor too, their sister Sammy who stopped by and brought her Uncle Rico! Roanna’s brother. We ran into another Labradoodle there too! Lots of people stopped to talk to us and visit with the puppies!

After that fun field trip we went home where I had the puppies run around the yard and the trail so Jasper would be extra tired for his trip, then he got a bath, and was all spiffy to be picked up! His flight was at 10:15 PM to Boston so we hoped he would sleep through it all!

The rest of the week was busy with their training, romps on the trail in between rain storms, two more visits to the pet store, some car tours out and about town, and a visit to the school when I picked up my daughter. At the school, I worked each puppy in the parking lot while I waited and Dugan got to walk over to the bus area to greet all the kids when my daughter got out.

I kept taking my camera with me but I always seemed to be too busy and distracted to get pictures. I kept putting off making an entry as I wanted to include pictures! Today I took some group pictures of the puppies! They did not always want to sit and say, “Cheese”, but they were pretty funny! Since I haven’t posted in awhile I decided just to post a bunch of them and you can pick your favorites!

    Puppies at Penrose!
Today the puppies went to Penrose State Park http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Penrose+Point We were going to go tomorrow but the weather reports said sunny for today and rainy for tomorrow so we opted for today and it was a gorgeous day!

We walked on the nature trail, then down the beach, and then we let the puppies play in the water!

Puppies at the School Yard and the Beach!
The puppies are enjoying their field trips! Yesterday we went to a schoolyard and it was quite tricky handling five puppies on leashes! They kept tangling up with each other and my feet! We finally worked our way over to the fenced in field where I let them all race around. We practiced whistle training where I blow the whistle and the puppies’ race back to me for tasty liver treats! They did great at this, turning practically on a dime and then with such happy looks racing back to me! One passerby said that it looked really impressive! Anastasia escaped out one gate but came running with the other puppies when I whistled.

We had a lady who came out to the field to meet the puppies and she had left her dog in the car, who squeezed out the sunroof and came to meet the puppies too! She reassured me he was friendly and the puppies were quite interested in meeting this new doggy friend! I am always a bit leery of strange dogs around my puppies! After we finished with the whistle training I put them all back into the car so we could practice individual leash work. All the puppies did great and a couple commented how good they were!

After that, we drove through some busy traffic with the windows cracked so they could get use to all the noise, then we sat in a busy parking lot and watched people and cars go by. Then we went through the McDonald’s drive thru (I am addicted to their oatmeal cookies) where they all woofed at the MD lady who of course gushed how cute all the puppies were!

Today we took the puppies to the beach at Allyn Park http://www.visitkitsap.com/cities.asp?ID=39 and http://www.explorehoodcanal.com/allyn-washington.html and http://www.portofallyn.com/id85.htm My daughter and her friend went along to help me out with the puppies. They loved the beach! I have to say it again louder … THEY LOVED THE BEACH! Oh, my goodness it was an instant hit with the puppies and I had to laugh as they threw all their training out the window in their enthusiasm to explore this new very exciting place!

We first walked down the dock, which is quite long. They sampled bits of shells, Seagull poop, and Seagull feathers. The girls were making all the ohh gross noises and using the “Leave It” command! The puppies were fascinated with the Seagulls on the rails and they loved to stick their heads out the rails and look out over the water!

At the end of the dock, we headed down the big ramp to the floating docks, which were right on the water! If we had not kept a tight hold on the puppies we are convinced they would have dove in especially Jasper! We had to keep a special eye on him, as he was quite interested in going over the edge and diving in!

After the docks, we did go on the beach and let them play on the edges of the water. Not one hesitated, they all dove in and played in the water. Jasper would have headed right out and gone swimming if his leash had been long enough! They woofed at the seagulls on the beach and they sniffed and sampled every thing they could find From there we walked up the boat launch ramp which at the bottom was all mossy and we all were slipping and sliding! We walked up to the park area in the grassy area and took turns playing on the big rock. A big green growling machine-spitting cut grass went by and the puppies all woofed at it! The guy on top laughed at all the puppies! We went into the huge gazebo and the growling machine went by on the outside and the puppies all woofed again, but their woofs all echoed and they all stopped barking and looked around. It was funny, as they did not bark again after that.

From there we went to the kids’ play area, which was fenced in, and we let them run around there for a while and then we packed it up to head home!

I did take pictures of our day at the beach …

Happy 16 weeks and 17 weeks!
This week has been a very hard week for us here. Monday we rushed our little Daschund/Terrier girl to the vet as she was throwing up blood. The vet ran blood tests and did some x-rays, kidney failure and obstructions were ruled out but she had dangerously low blood platelets, less than 5000. Normal is 165,000 – 500,000 and dangerous is considered under 30,000, she was lucky to be alive! When they get low, they are in danger of a spontaneous bleed out which is what she was starting as she was bleeding under her gums and into her stomach area. They put her IV’s and antibiotics and we were told she would be spending the night.

Tuesday we checked in and they were doing more blood work and testing to see if she had gotten into something toxic. That was ruled out and they were also testing for Cancer. Another night at the vets.

Wednesday I called and her platelets were up but only to about 16,000 and they wanted to keep her until Friday. So far, negative for cancer. They were suspecting an Auto Immune Disorder where the body attacks the blood cells. They also wanted to run some other tests. I was quite depressed and worried that she might not pull through all this. I also did not like thinking that poor Xandy thought we had deserted her at the vets so I called and asked if I could visit and take her for a walk.

I arrived at the vet and I was told I could take her for a very small walk nothing stressful. Xandy was quite excited to see me and I was her too, to the point of tears. My poor Xandy girl! She is 11 years old and one of my old rescue dogs. I took her for a small walk and then carried her around for a bit. Then I let her say hi to the Doodles in the car that also came to visit. I took her back in and brought some stuff from home; a blanket, a comfort toy, and some of her biscuits.

Thursday I called and was told she was off the IV, blood platelets up but still too low to come home. She was eating, resting, and peeing fine. So we had our fingers crossed all was going to be well. Still no definite diagnosis.

Friday we called right away in the morning and were told they still needed to check her platelets, were waiting for some lab work to come in and they would call us later. It got later and later, and finally after 3 PM they called and said we could bring her home and to pick her up after 4:30. Yea! We finished what we were doing and headed over there!

The vet said us that she tested positive for a very rare tick disease and they wanted to run another blood test to verify that, as it was pretty rare. They sent home medicines for that and for the Auto Immune Disorder, which is what she felt that, was the strongest diagnosis and a doggy type of Pepto bismal to help buffer her stomach because of all the bleeding earlier. We still need to keep a close eye on her, keep her quiet, and she goes back next week to have her platelets checked. So still not out of the woods but we are feeling more optimistic over her!

During this week, I realized I did not have any recent pictures of Xandy, so I took some of her too!

Meantime the puppies have been quite busy! I had bought some extra kennels so we spent part of this week with each puppy in their own kennel. Most did just fine but a couple protested being away from their furry little comfort buddies. I gave them teddy bears to help which they shook up and one got a bit shredded. They have been stealing them from kennel to kennel and racing around the room with them!

Friday the puppies went on their first field trip! I took them with me when I went up to the gym to drop my daughter off. One by one, they went on a tour of the parking lot and into the gym. They were not so sure, what to make of all the crazy kids running around but for their first trip out they did great! Each one went potty on command and then did their sits and downs in the gym. The kids enjoyed saying HI to them and getting to pet the puppies! One coach was funny, as he didn’t realize I was walking in with a different dog each time and thought it was the same dog and kept wondering why the kids couldn’t keep the name straight and one little girl insisted it was a girl puppy when the one he met was a boy puppy!

We had one little incident out in the parking lot when I was putting one puppy back to get another and Weston jumped out! I grabbed him, but missed but that caused a mass exit of all the puppies! Yikes! I am sure it was quite comical seeing all the puppies diving out and me scrabbling to grab them and missing! I grabbed the puppy on leash and tossed him in. Turned around and called “Puppy, puppy, come!” and bless their little hearts if they did not turn around and come running! I managed to scoop up two more while the other two ran back to the little field by the gym. I called one of them, he came running, and I got him in the car. Leaving just Anastasia who I then called and she came running! Good Puppies! However, after that, I had the puppy being exchanged, off the leash, in my arms, and ready to push into the car and keep the other puppies from escaping again!

Earlier Friday the puppies had a grooming session and this time instead of waiting until they were all done, I did pictures as I finished each one. However, I did not get Weston done until today as I ran out of time!

    Soggy Doggy Doodle Puppies!
Wednesday March 19th, 2008 Soggy Doggy Doodle Puppies!

I thought I would share what your puppies look like after a good romp out in the yard in the rain! Early, while it was sunny and nice out we did our leash training and individual walks, then Walker had a girl friend visit, and then I had to run out to help pick up my son’s car at the garage, which my daughter and I then did a side trip quick to the library. By the time we got home our sunshine was gone, the darker clouds were rolling in and soon it started pouring. The puppies really look forward to their romp around the yard and so in between rain showers I decided we would go out despite the weather. Happy as larks the puppies romped all around and as we headed onto the back trail it started to rain again. The trees kept most of the rain off so we lingered in the woods and then finally when it really started to rain we called it a romp and headed in!

I snapped a few shots off before my daughter and I toweled off each puppy and put them in their crates with some dinner and a then down for a good nap!

    Busy Busy Time and Puppies!
I know everyone has been eager to catch up on their puppies and I apologize for getting behind, things got crazy busy and I was having trouble keeping up and I am afraid the journal is one of the first things to slide. My knee has really slowed me down though it is getting better. They have me in a walking brace, I can put weight on it but I cannot kneel on it. Monday I was hoping to catch up and each of the puppies got their turn at a Grooming Session, brushed, trimmed, and nails cut! They all were very good! By late afternoon I was hit with a tummy bug, *bluck*! So, that set me back a couple of days! I wanted to take pictures on Wednesday but all my batteries were drained! *Yikes*

So yesterday, I managed to get some pictures of the puppies out on our almost daily walks around the yard. My son had a massive homework assignment yesterday and took over my computer until way past my bedtime! But I finally got the pictures downloaded and ready for posting!

These are of the puppies out on our walk, they are messy from sticking their little noses in anything and everything, and they are not as pretty as they were on Monday! I’ve introduced them to the back trail through the woods and boy do they have a great time racing up and down the trail and exploring under all the bushes, this is the highlight of their day! They also love to go down and race around the orchard! We have been really spoiled by all this nice weather so we have been going on our walks almost every day.

The puppies are doing great with their training. In addition to their wild jaunts in the yard, I take them out for walks on their leash and they are learning to walk nicely and pay attention to me. They have their sits down pretty pat, and we are working on them going down without the lure. They have learned to “Shake” which I like to work on as it gets them use to their paws being held and handled. We work on them going over to their tummy and some are learning to Roll Over. We continue with their manners and socialization the hardest being not to jump up! They just love everyone they meet they can’t help themselves, but we keep working on it!

I feel like I have a little Kindergarten class as we have a day filled with naps, snacks, lessons, and recess! Busy days for us all!

Here are the puppy pictures, a couple are blurry because they are running but I thought I would still share them as I thought they showed how much fun they have racing around and running full out! The darker ones are taken on our trail out in the woods and the lighter ones are down in the orchard.

Happy 13 Weeks to the Ting Boy!
Here is our Mr. Westonality, Westonator Weston! He went on the Friday vet adventure along with the Roanna puppies. After the vet, I ran my daughter up to the gym and since he had his second shot last week I let my daughter run him into the gym to meet all the kids. They just loved him as they all took turns holding and cuddling him! They all thought he was the sweetest puppy ever!

Happy 12 Weeks to the Roanna Puppies!
Wow, has these last 3 months have just flown by! They have had a fun week as the weather has been so nice we have been outside playing quite a bit, I take each one for a walk around the yard to practise their leash work. Friday they went on an adventure to the vet’s office! The staff there just loved them! They were fed lots of doggy cookies and had their training showed off. On the way home the cookies were tossed! I’m not sure by who and I don’t think they all did but I think there were two culprits! They did just fine going to the vets!

I’m sorry to be behind on pictures. It is actually tricky for me to take them as I have to wear this big ‘ole knee brace and it is hard to kneel down, sitting down I am too low and standing up I am too high. It turns out I partially tore the inner ligament in my knee. I was told that it should heal on its own, wouldn’t require surgery but they recommended Physical Therapy to make sure I gain full flexibility in my knee again and 6 weeks for healing. The puppies love the brace and the Velcro strappings!

Since it is harder for me to carry them in and out, I have been working on teaching them to run to the door to go outside and to run back to the puppy room when I bring them inside. My older Doodles think this is great fun to come and watch this little Doodle parade! The puppies love to jump on the Doodles and grab their ears! Mommy Roanna likes to chase them all back into the puppy room! If she knows that I am getting ready to let them outside then she races to the front door and asks to go outside so she is waiting for them when they come out. She loves to spend time playing with them! You can tell she is very proud of her Doodle Babies! Even her Nephew Weston from Ting’s litter!

    Outdoor Puppy Adventure!
The puppies went on a big adventure today, a tour around the big yard! They had so much fun exploring this new big world with all kinds of new things to sniff and explore. They loved the grass in the orchard and promptly grabbed big mouthfuls to tug out and shake around! I took lots of pictures and I am just going to post a bunch of them! There are a bunch!

Happy 11 Weeks to the Roanna Puppies and Happy 12 Weeks to the Ting Boy!
This week just flew by! It has been quite busy with the puppies! They are doing wonderfully at their training. They are doing their sits, downs, wait, and they shake hands! We are doing some leash work and have introduced the “Leave It”. We continue to work on their puppy manners and socialization!

With the nice weather, we have been going outside to potty and play. I get them outside right away in the mornings. This morning they were up before the dawn at 5:30 AM so they went out in the dark! They were all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, even Mommy Roanna who goes out with them! They are usually sleeping a bit longer but they went to bed early at 9:30 PM, as I was exhausted from the busy day. They usually go to bed around 10-10:30 and they have been sleeping until usually 6:30 or 7 AM.

I am not moving very fast these days as I took a bad spill and hurt my knee. The Dr. sent me in for a MRI as he thinks I have torn a ligament. He says there is too much laxity in my knee and it hurts! I knew you had to hold still for the MRA but I did not realize how hard it was to hold that still! My leg kept twitching and even when I thought, “Don’t twitch!” I then twitched! So then, I had to try and not think about twitching at all which is hard to do when your leg continues to twitch! I think my puppies can hold still better than I can! However, I am not really bribed with tasty liver treats!

I did treat myself to McDonald’s oatmeal cookies, of which I am totally addicted too! I had to laugh as the lady at the first window just exclaimed over Andy and brought several others over to the window to see him. As I waited my turn and then pulled up to the second window, there she was with, must have been, the rest of the staff, all peering out the window at Andy! It was a window of faces! They handed me my cookies but I had to remind them I had a drink too, and then that I also needed a straw! As I drove away, I was laughing at loud at the silliness of it and all the attention my silly Andy guy gets!

My daughter and I did some fun pictures but *arg* they did not come out! I am really sitting her grumbling about it, though not twitching. I am going to post them anyway. I would go and redo them but the puppies are napping and we do not mess with puppy nap times! :)

Our other puppies are with us in training camps! They are doing quite well! They have learned to “Sit” and “Down”. Some have learned to “Shake”. We are working on them going over on their “Tummy” for a tummy rub. We are also working on their leash work as well as socialization and manners.

Here is our delightful Mr. Blue Boy! He is a bundle of energy that finds joy in just about everything! He is our little escape artist and will climb the gate to gleefully run free! He is also quick to tattle on any others who might just happen to escape!

This is our beautiful Chocolate Girl! She is a very clever girl who does a beautiful sit and takes her treats so nicely. When she is done with her training, she lets me know by crawling and curling up in my lap! She loves to cuddle!

Here is Mr. Red boy! This guy is just a love! He just recently found his family who are very excited about him!

    An Outside Adventure!
Missy Cream Girl went home today! She is going to be a Therapy dog working with special needs kids and will be going to work with her family! Welcome home Shiloh!

Since it was a fairly mild afternoon we took the puppies outside to play! What an adventure that turned into for them as they absolutely loved it. No hesitation at all when they were set down, they immediately bounded out into the yard to explore and were soon chasing each other all around. We brought the Mommy Doodles out to play with them and they all had a terrific time! The wind picked up after a while but the puppies didn’t mind all the trees blowing above them and chased the leaves that blew around in their yard.

I tried to take some pictures of them playing but it was tricky trying to capture them as they were bounding about so fast! I have so many pictures of pieces of tails or nothing at all in the picture! I had to laugh as my daughter brought her camera out and finally stamped her foot in frustration saying all her pictures were blurry as the puppies would just not hold still for even a moment! Most of the pictures of them standing still are taken after they had been out for awhile. After we brought them in, they had a snack and they took the longest nap! Me too as I needed a nap too!

    Happy 10 Weeks Ting Puppies!
Two Ting puppies have gone home! I wanted to take pictures before they got picked up but things were just too busy. My daughter had her Trampoline meet to get ready for, she took 2 first places and a 3rd place but with an incredible score!

Our little Missy Chocolate girl was the first to be picked up! She is going to a wonderful busy family of kids and other pet dogs! Welcome Home Fiona!

Next was Mr. Red Boy! This boy has crater feet and is going to be a big boy that might even rival our big Andy Guy! He has a wonderful family with a delightful two-year old! Welcome Home Charleston Cooper!

Tomorrow Missy Cream girl goes home! Mr. Blue Boy will be staying a bit longer for training!

Happy 9 Weeks to the Roanna Puppies!
The puppies are busy, busy, and did I mention how busy they are? They romp around the room, or shall I say they thunder around the room! I laughed as I could hear the boom of my son and his friends playing their music down in the basement and thought, teenagers, they play their music so loud! When I went down to the basement I could hear the pounding of 44 tiny little feet on the ceiling as they raced around their puppy room! It was hard to say which was louder, the music or puppy paws! My son and his friends might have been trying to drown out all those racing little paws!

I wasn’t happy with their 9 week photo shoot and I was hoping to redo it. But things have been busy with getting Ting puppies ready to go home and my daughter off to her Trampoline meet that I haven’t had a chance. So I am going to go with these and maybe tomorrow I can find time to try and shoot some better pictures.

    Roanna Puppies Doing Wonderfully!
First, I want to say that the Roanna puppies are doing wonderfully! Second, I want to apologize for not posting sooner. It was a busy crazy day and I never really got caught up as I ended up picking the puppies up ahead of schedule.

The Roanna puppies went on their big vet adventure bright and early in the morning! They were declared "Just Stinking too cute!" by the vet staff. They did so well and recovered so quickly that at a quarter to one I got a phone call telling me they were ready to go home! It was translated to they are awake, playing, and voicing their protests at being kept in the kennel! I understand the dogs next to them were begging for earmuffs!

I don’t normally pick up until after 3 PM. So I had to scramble to finish my current Doodle rotations and get things together to head out the door, my whole morning schedule had slid due to being gone for part of the morning getting them to the vet. I wasn’t quite ready for the puppies to come home, as I wanted to set the room up into two sections again. I had to call my son and let him know I was at the vets so he could hitch a ride home since I wasn’t going to be at the bus stop. Since it was raining, he opted to hitch the ride home with me!

After I got home I quickly got the room segregated and let the puppies out to go potty and boy did they have to go potty! They were holding it! They all were happy and running around, barking their adventure out to their buddies on the other side of the x-pen. They were hungry little puppers too and gobbled their food down and then promptly all started pooping! So I guess maybe they were hungry little poopers!

We have our first little boy climber! Mr. Blue Boy! He determined that he wanted to be on the other side of the x-pen and promptly climbed up and over! Egad, the silly guy just had surgery! So I had to keep a close eye on him and that left me in the puppy room most of the day keeping that little rascal from climbing over! I’m not sure why he thinks things are better on the other side, I guess he has “The Grass is Greener on the Other Side Syndrome”! The two Ting climbing girls also thought they wanted to climb over and go visiting so I was keeping them on their side! I was also shuffling over the other puppies to the potty pool, as I didn’t get a chance to set up a second pool. They actually did very well, holding it until I put them over there!

It was a very busy day and I was very tired at the end of it. This morning they are up and running around. They are taking a nap this moment so I managed to escape for a bit! :)

Happy 8 Weeks to the Roanna Puppies!
Wow, I can’t believe it is February! Weren’t we just singing Jingle Bells and decorating the Christmas tree? The puppies are very busy and very demanding! They are playing, romping, barking, eating, growing, pooping, and just being utterly adorable! The other day I went in and laughed as several had figured out how to climb up on the couch and were up there romping! Chocolate girl tunneled under the blankets and shook them all up! They had knocked my pillow down and the puppies below were attacking it! Good thing my library book was no longer on the back of the couch! I plopped them down and made a mental note that I keep meaning to buy one of those bed rails to put up! I have had books eaten, my glasses eaten, my water glass dumped, and all kinds of mischief for the puppies to get into when they figure out how to jump up there!

I have been letting them out to explore the section by the stairs and they are learning to go up the stairs but they aren’t so sure about coming down. Some are venturing down and the others sit up there and whine until I rescue them. Though Blue Ting Boy didn’t whine, he stuck his nose in between the rails and woofed at those below! I think he was telling them Ha Ha I’m up here! I didn’t give him away and tell that he was really stuck too!

It has been a busy week at night too. I’m trying to work on getting the puppies to sleep longer. They were up to sleeping 4 hours at night and then they decided they wanted to cut it back to two hours! I had several nights where they woke up at midnight, 2:15, and then 4:30 and then wanted up to play at 5:15! I let them up to go potty at midnight but I ignored them at 2:15 though that means I am ignoring them with a pillow over my head because they are very determined that I hear their little puppy protests. I let them up at 4:30 to go potty, back to bed, and then I let them up at 5:30 because I just cannot get up at 5:15! Last night was better as they were put to bed around 11:30, slept until 4:30, and then slept until 6 AM. They got up went potty, played, and had breakfast. By 7 AM I was ready to nap some more. I have to move all the way to the back of the couch as the puppies jump up on the side and try to get me. I have to tuck my blankets tight around me, as they will pull them off. They try to pull my pillows off too. If I open my eyes and look at them, they get all excited and jump up and down and woof at me! By 7:30, we were all napping!

Mommy Ting has been in the doghouse! She climbs over the gate and into the puppy room and wakes the puppies up when they are napping! Mommy Roanna peeks over the gate and watches! Causes quite the puppy ruckus, as the puppies love their Mommy Doodles to come and play! The girls are pretty much finished weaning them but they go in and play with them. I think the two Ting girls have been watching their Mommy climb and have started to climb out of the X-pens! I always seem to have a couple of escape artists and they are usually the girls!

We have the stomach flu here! My daughter was home sick with it yesterday. ‘Tis the bug season for sure! I got some pictures but it has taken me awhile to get them downloaded. A few didn’t really come out that well. Sorry about that. Sometimes they look okay on my camera screen but then when I download them they are a bit blurry.

Here are the Roanna 8 Weekers! )
