Happy almost 12 weeks Isis Puppies!
Wow, the time is just flying by! The puppies are growing so much and are just too adorable! We survived the heat by keeping cool and playing in the water. The puppies and the Doodles both love the water. The puppies had a wading pool and a mister spraying and the Doodles got sprinklers!

My daughter had her 4H fair and she did terrific! She took a number of Grand and Reserve Champions and lots of Blue Ribbons with Mindy. Dreamz took Grand Champion and won the highest award trophy with her score of 197 out of 200. My daughter entered several other exhibits like photography and won a number of Grand Champions and Reserve Champion. She built this Agility Portable Teeter Totter and won Grand Champion and Best of Show! You can see her pictures here http://www.flickr.com/photos/9393538@N07/sets/72157621768604861/

Well enough of the Mom Brags, back to the puppies and a puppy brag of their own! Last Thursday we visited the Nursing home with 8 of the Isis and Melina puppies. The joy we bring stays in my heart forever. The puppies were so incredibly good and people were just raving at home calm and well behaved they were. They settled into laps or on beds and gave sweet little kisses and hugs. We even did a little training demo and showed how well they did their sits, downs, and even a few that have learned to shake hands. We had several of our 4H kids come to help out, they are just as awesome as out little Therapy Puppies!

My family took off for Florida tonight so it is just me and the Doods for the next almost two weeks. Here are the Isis puppies, we still have a couple of openings in this litter.

    Puppy Water Play!
Whew, who can believe the record heat we had today, still having! Some areas were as high as 114 degrees! Still in the 90’s even now, so late at night! Still predicted to be hot tomorrow! TV has been advising that people visit “Cooling Centers” that have been set up in libraries and the malls even for just a couple of hours to bring their body temperatures down. I know I am very susceptible to heat exhaustion and dehydration so I have been trying to keep things low key, keep in the fans, and drink lots of water. Even the Doodles are lounging in the fans!

I thought I would share how the puppies are dealing with this heat as well as letting everyone know they are doing just fine. The last two days I have been setting up the wading pool and the mister spray and letting them play!

They love it! They romp in the pool, digging at the water, chasing the hose, and even just lounging! The love the mister and try to eat the water or they just lounge in it. Some of the pictures it is hard to see the mist spraying but it is set up to spray partly on the deck and partly into the pool.

The puppies romp in the pool then they go race around the puppy yard, even digging up a few holes, so they come back quite dirty and jump in the pool again! They get the water muddy pretty quickly and I end up dumping it out and changing it to clean water several times. They love to chase the wave of water that I dump out on the deck! Then they love to try and catch the water from the hose as it fills up the pool!

I set up a chair and a fan by the door so I can sit and watch over them. My husband, who got off early today to take the kids boating, wandered by and asked if I had found the coolest spot in the house. I said not really just a fun spot watching the puppies. He stood there a few minutes and laughed at their silly antics.

I’ve been letting the puppies sleep out on the deck the last two nights as it is too hot in the puppy room and way too hot to make them stay in kennels, they will be spoiled by this and not want to go back to their crate training!

I took lots of pictures and decided I would just download them to a slide show as that is the easiest for me, really still too hot to sit at a computer for very long, so many will seem similar but I didn’t spend the time picking out the best shots I just included them all. The temperature in the house is still reading 85 degrees, down from 95 degrees this afternoon, and that is with fans all going!

Here is the puppy slide show! http://www.flickr.com/photos/organize/ Look for the Puppy Rainbow and another favorite is the one with the 3 squirts of water coming out of a paw! Lots of soggy faces and little bodies! Many of the ones of them lounging on the deck are actually them lounging in the mist spray, they would just lay there letting it spray all over them!

    Happy 9 Weeks Isis Puppies!
Wow, where is July going? Wasn’t it just the 4th of July? It has been a crazy week with all the men folk of the family out of town. Just my daughter and I and all the Doodles here for a week! Thursday we took some of the Doodles to the Nursing Home! Our visits are really anticipated and bring so many smiles and warm heart moments to all, including us. We had our Mr. Harvey there who showed off his training to many oohs and ahhs. He is such a gentle soul and did so well with all that he visited with. My daughter and Mindy did a show of tricks which always brings claps of delight from everyone.

    Happy 8 Weeks Melina Puppies!
Here are the Melina puppies! They have really grown so much and are now noticeably bigger than the Isis puppies, except for two, Yellow Girl and Purple Girl, who are about the same size as the Isis puppies. Our two biggest puppies are L Green Boy and Pink Girl. All the puppies are doing great after their surgeries.

    Happy 8 Weeks Isis Puppies!
Wow 8 weeks old already! They are so adorable and the vet said they were some of the cutest I have had and were very high up there on the Cute-o-Meter! They are doing great after their surgery yesterday. It is hard to keep them down and quiet. They act like nothing has happened!

Puppy Yard Adventure and some Extras!
Tuesday I took the puppies out for their last adventure for a little while as they were scheduled for their spay and neuters. Isis puppies went today and did great! The hardest part Is keeping them quiet as they come home like nothing has happened. Tonight they were running around, playing, and wrestling around like they always do! For the next week we try and keep things quiet and stress free for their recovery even though they don’t act like it, they still have their tiny little stitches in.

Back to Tuesday, I took them out to our front puppy yard. Our new puppy yard is still under construction. I like to introduce the idea of a few stairs. They all stood at the top and were not sure about venturing down. I sat on the steps and slowly showed them how to go down, a few followed suit on their own, and soon all were down exploring their new area!

    Happy 7 Weeks Isis Puppies!
Happy Belated 4th of July! I wanted to get these posted right away but didn’t quite make it and then for some reason I kept downloading the full size version and not the re-sized pictures *arg* so I had to redo them all. They still are the super cute little Patriotic Doodle Puppies!

    Puppy Play and Adventures!
I apologize as I seem to just be perpetually behind when it comes to my journal, it takes awhile to get each part done. It has been quite busy with the older puppies and their training and field trips and the little puppies as I spend time trying to introduce many new things and ideas before 8 weeks as that is the best time for this and is during the puppy imprinting time.

    Puppy Water Play!
This weekend and really heading into this week has been some really great summer weather! Since it was so nice I set up one of the wading pools with some water for the puppies to play in. I let it warm up in the sun and then tossed in some toys!

    A Day at the Beach
Last week was an incredibly low tide week. Tuesday was a -4.1 and we heard on the news about Ferry runs being canceled because the tide was so low. Tuesday was the last day of school and despite it being the predicted nicer day of the week and the lowest of the low days, we couldn't quite make it out there. Wednesday despite the ominous clouds and threat of rain we headed out to our property anyway so we could walk the beach and explore the reefs that open up when the tide is this low, a -3.9.

We took the 3 older puppies, Harvey, Misty, and Caramella, then Andy, Mindy, and Walker. My daughter brought her friend Kaitlynn along. The dogs had a great time especially the puppies who chased each other all along the beach and into the water. No hesitation in going in the water! We saw lots of interesting sea life! Hundreds of Sea Stars, also known as Starfish, Sea Anemones, a Moon Snail, Crabs, and a very large Purple Jelly Fish!

I have lots of pictures I took, it took me awhile to get the photos all organized and I am going to try something different and put them in photo album on another site. I'll see if this link works, let me know if it doesn't. Click on the Album that says
"Day at the Beach" then in the top part, right hand corner of that page is a spot to click on "Slide Show". There are lots of pictures of not just the Doodles and puppies, but of the things we saw on the beach. Enjoy!

    Isis and Melina Puppies Playing
I tried to take some pictures of the puppies just playing. Most of them didn’t come out, my camera and I have been at odds with each other this last month it seems! The puppies love these PVC pipe connections, tunnels, that I got. At first I was afraid they were too small and I wouldn’t be able to keep them out for them very long but despite growing bigger they still love to climb through them and over them and they often fall asleep in them!

The Melina puppies are really growing, their weights are still the same as the Isis puppies but you can see some size difference and you can start to see some bigger paws!

    Roanna and Kira Puppy Adventures!
Please Note: These puppies are our training camp puppies which means they have families who have enrolled them in our puppy camps and they stay with us for training. Two are our puppies we have kept back for program. I post their entries so families can see their pictures and hear about their adventures. I’ve had several requests for these wonderful puppies, they are not available. Our Isis and Melina puppies still have openings! :)

The Roanna and Kira puppies that are left are having a great time on all the field trips we have been going on. Sunday we went to Allyn Park, which I love taking the dogs too. It has this really big dock, a beach, a park, and an enclosed play area! It has this huge covered gazebo and is very popular for weddings. It is a wonderful park!

    All Puppies Playing!
These pictures were taken at 4 ½ weeks old. I’ve been putting the puppies together to play and they just love playing in a big group! Mommy Doodles go outside and watch from the deck! I still separate them at night and during the day when the Mommy Doodles are in taking care of them.
